The New York Knicks are heading back to Madison Square Garden with a commanding 2-0 lead in the 2026 NBA Finals after edging the San Antonio Spurs, 105-104, in Game 2 on Saturday (PH time) at the Frost Bank Center.
Jalen Brunson once again delivered in crunch time. With the score tied at 104, the Knicks star calmly sank a mid-range jumper with 39 seconds remaining to knot the game.

Victor Wembanyama had a chance to answer on the other end, but his jumper missed the mark. The Spurs were then forced to foul Brunson, who split his free throws to give New York a one-point advantage.
San Antonio controlled much of the first half and carried a 12-point lead into the break. However, just like in Game 1, the Knicks mounted a second-half comeback and briefly grabbed the lead during the third quarter.
The game turned into a back-and-forth battle from there, with neither team able to create much separation down the stretch.
Karl-Anthony Towns led all scorers with 21 points, while Brunson and Mikal Bridges added 20 points apiece for New York.
Now holding a 2-0 series lead, the Knicks will look to move one step closer to a championship when the series shifts to New York for Game 3.
