When Amandinha steps onto the pitch for the final time in the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup, she knows she’s living the culmination of a childhood dream, leading Brazil on the grandest stage in the tournament’s first-ever championship match.

Fresh from a convincing 4–1 semifinal win over Spain, the 31-year-old and eight-time Best Player of the World admitted it was a tough battle but expressed her delight at taking Brazil to the World Cup final.

“It was a very tough game, and a great one to watch because we respected Spain a lot,” said Amandinha. “I’m glad we were able to play our game, get the win, and now compete in the final.”

With four continental titles already to her name, Amandinha fully understands the weight of the moment.

“Being here and playing in this World Cup is a childhood dream,” she added.

Facing Portugal for the title, Amandinha doesn’t see the occasion as pressure, but as an opportunity to deliver a message, one that goes beyond the result.

“This is all about representation. We are here to represent women’s futsal,” she concluded. “We have to show the world how special this game truly is.”
