Kevin Durant officially joined the 31,000-point club while leading the Houston Rockets to a 117-98 victory over the Phoenix Suns at the Toyota Center Saturday morning (PH time).
Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to reach the exclusive milestone after sinking two free throws and a midrange jumper in the opening frame. Down by seven early, Durant ignited Houston’s offense, scoring 17 of the Rockets’ 44 second-quarter points to give them a double-digit lead by halftime.
The Rockets carried the momentum into the third quarter, outscoring the Suns 29-14 to take a commanding 25-point lead heading into the final period. From there, Houston never looked back, securing their seventh home win of the 2025–26 season.
Durant finished with 28 points, 8 assists, and 4 rebounds, while Amen Thompson led the Rockets offensively with a 31-point outing.
Houston (15-5) will face a Texas showdown with the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow at the American Airlines Center, while Phoenix (13-10) continues its road trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.
