The Toronto Raptors escaped a late scare to edge the Portland Trail Blazers, 121-118, in the 2025-26 NBA regular season on Wednesday (PH time) at Scotiabank Arena.
Scottie Barnes delivered an impressive all-around effort with 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists, while Immanuel Quickley added 23 points, 8 assists, and 5 boards.
Portland made things interesting in the fourth after Deni Avdija, who finished with 25 points, 14 assists, and 8 rebounds, knocked down a three-pointer to cut the deficit to single digits.
Jerami Grant followed with a dunk, and Avdija converted a layup for an 11-0 run that trimmed Toronto’s lead to 104-100.
With the Raptors suddenly under pressure, Barnes steadied the ship by sinking two free throws and setting up Collin Murray-Boyles for an alley-oop that pushed the lead back to 108-100.
But the Blazers weren’t done yet, as Shaedon Sharpe scored six unanswered points to make it a one-possession game with 1:17 left.
Portland had a chance to tie or take the lead in the final minute, but Avdija was whistled for an offensive foul. On the ensuing play, Quickley found a cutting Brandon Ingram for an easy slam that effectively sealed the victory for Toronto.
The Raptors, now 15-7, will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. The Blazers dropped to 8-13 after absorbing their third straight loss and will look to regroup against the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow.
