While the gold medal was a reaffirmation of Finnegan's status as the brightest female gymnast of the country, her win was not without hiccups after the win was initially granted to Thailand's bet.
It took another 30 minutes before the officials corrected the results, with Finnegan garnering a score of 13.433 against Vietnamese Thi Quynh Nhu Nguyen's 13.400 and Malaysian Kang Xian Yeap's 12.966, who claimed silver and bronze medals, respectively.
The Philippines currently ranks fifth in the 33rd SEAG medal tally with five golds, seven silvers, and 21 bronzes for a total of 31 medals as of 9:00 AM.
Finnegan completed the triple gold medal haul of the country behind the respective victories of Kimberly Custodio and Dean Roxas in the 48kg and 85kg categories of jiu-jistu ne-zawa events of the regional competition.
