Spurs fall 123-108 despite Wembanyama's strong start; fatigue Becomes Concern image

In the NBA playoffs, the San Antonio Spurs fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 123-108, trailing 1-2 in the Western Conference Finals.

Spurs star Victor Wembanyama delivered a solid two-way performance but couldn't lift his team to victory. In 39 minutes, he finished with 26 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks on 8-of-15 shooting (2-of-5 from three, 8-of-10 from the line), posting a plus-minus of +4. He opened the game by knocking down back-to-back three-pointers, helping San Antonio race out to a 15-0 lead. However, Oklahoma City's bench exploded for 76 points, rendering Wembanyama's efforts futile. According to statistics, the Spurs were +4 with Wembanyama on the floor in 39 minutes and -19 without him in just 9 minutes.

More concerning is Wembanyama's fatigue, which was especially evident on the glass. Over the first two games of the series, he dominated the paint, grabbing a combined 41 rebounds. But in Game 3, he managed just 4 rebounds — only 1 in the second half. His decline in energy level could significantly impact the trajectory of the rest of the series.

hot commentIt’s hard to get a rebound when you’re getting held on every possession

hot commentAs soon as Wemby goes off the court, the bench lineup gets crushed by the Thunder, which is quite troublesome.
