San Beda University continued its strong preseason run, defeating Adamson University, 66-61, in the AsiaBasket National Student-Athletes Championship (NSAC) on Saturday at the UP Varsity Training Center in Quezon City.

Leading the defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) men’s basketball champions was Jimmy Reyes, who tallied 16 points, six rebounds, and three steals.

It was the Red Lions’ second straight win in the tournament after previously stunning reigning University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) champion De La Salle University, 77-76.

Also contributing were RC Calimag with 10 points and Nygel Gonzales with six.

For Adamson, Ray Allen Torres and AJ Fransman scored 11 and 10 points, respectively, but these were not enough as the Soaring Falcons fell short for the second straight match.
