ONIC Esports star Duane “Kelra” Pillas admitted that he is still adjusting to his new team as he continues to settle into his role in the MPL Indonesia Season 17 regular season.
Kelra, who decided to transfer from ONIC PH to its sister organization in Indonesia during the offseason, has played three games so far and has helped the reigning MPL Indonesia champions to a strong 3-0 start.
“Siguro ‘yung mga unang laro ko dito, hindi ko pa nabigay ‘yung best ko and para sa akin, marami pa akong mai-improve sa next na laro ko,” the 19-year-old gold laner said.
With Kelra in tow, ONIC Esports has yet to drop a game, sweeping Alter Ego, RRQ Hoshi, and Geek Fam in dominant fashion to seize an early lead in the MPL Indonesia Season 17 regular season.
The M6 World Championship Finals MVP already showcased the gold lane prowess that has made him widely regarded as one of the best in the world today, earning MVP honors in his first two games.
However, the Filipino star believes he has yet to deliver his best performance in ONIC Esports colors.
“Ang mare-rate ko from 1 to 10, sa tingin ko 6 kasi para sa akin hindi pa ‘yun ‘yung pinaka peak na laro ko and siguro mas marami pa akong mai-improve sa laro,” said the former Execration star.
Once he builds chemistry with his new teammates and continues to adjust to the system, Kelra believes it is only a matter of time before he fully hits his stride, with the gold laner confident that his best form is yet to come.
“Kasi ‘yung laro ko nung debut game ko, ‘di ko masasabi na 100 percent na. Marami pang games, marami pa akong dapat ayusin sa gameplay ko.”
