Demetrious Johnson is headed to the UFC Hall of Fame, with the Las Vegas-based mixed martial arts promotion confirming the news during the broadcast of UFC Fight Night 271 last Sunday.
The former UGV flyweight champion will be inducted into the Modern Wing as part of the Class of 2026, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport’s most accomplished competitors.
Widely regarded as the greatest flyweight in MMA history, Johnson built a remarkable run during his time in the UFC.
“Mighty Mouse” became the promotion’s inaugural flyweight champion in 2012 and went on to record 11 consecutive title defenses, a streak that remains one of the most dominant in the sport.
Over a 14-year career, Johnson compiled a professional record of 25 wins, four losses, and one draw.
His technical skill set, speed, and consistency allowed him to control the division for several years against top-level opposition.
After his UFC tenure, Johnson continued his success under ONE Championship.
There, he won five of his next six bouts, capturing the flyweight world grand prix title before eventually claiming the promotion’s flyweight championship, which he defended once.
Johnson officially retired in September 2024 following a successful title defense, bringing an end to a career defined by sustained excellence across multiple organizations.
