Stephen Loman hopes his eventual return to competition will serve a greater purpose as tensions continue to affect Filipinos living in the Middle East.

The conflict, which began on February 28 after a joint military action by the United States and Israel against Iran, has escalated into a wider regional crisis.

Sustained airstrikes across key Iranian cities have impacted at least 14 countries, leaving many communities, including overseas Filipino workers, in uncertain conditions.

Loman, who spent a significant portion of his career competing in the region, said the situation resonates deeply with him.

During his time with BRAVE Combat Federation from 2016 to 2019, he fought six times, including three bouts in Bahrain.

His run included a BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Title-winning performance against Gurdarshan Mangat in February 2017.

Now back with the Bahrain-based promotion after rejoining in late 2025, Loman was expected to make his return soon.

However, the ongoing instability has forced adjustments, with his comeback bout likely to be moved to June.

Despite the delay, Loman remains focused on representing Filipinos abroad when he steps back inside the cage.

“The Sniper” believes his highly anticipated return to BRAVE CF can offer a sense of pride and hope to those navigating difficult circumstances far from home.

“I pray that peace finds its way back to the region soon. I look forward to stepping inside the cage again, not just to compete, but to bring a sense of pride and joy to Filipinos there, even in the middle of hardship,” Loman said in an interview with Filipino combat sports journalist Nissi Icasiano.
