The much-awaited fight between John Riel Casimero and Luis Nery in Bishkek, Kazakhstan has been postponed, its promoter Saikou X Lush Boxing Promotions announced on Thursday, April 2.
Casimero and Nery is set to figure in an interesting super bantamweight duel as part of the SAIKOULUSH Vol. 5, 6, and 7, originally scheduled for April 17–19, but the ongoing conflict in the middle east prompted the organizers to postpone the entire event.
“We deeply apologize but due to the escalating tensions, we regretfully must postpone the event.. Please stay tuned for the announcements,” wrote promoter Koki Kameda in an X post.
In the official statement, the promotions cited the travel restrictions affecting international fighters,
challenges in preparation and training logistics,
delays in transporting equipment and securing technical staff.
It also needs an enhanced venue for additional safety measures.
“The promotion emphasized its commitment to delivering high-quality boxing entertainment, noting that holding the events under current conditions would make it difficult to maintain the expected standards,” the promotion said.
