Clint Chapman has replaced Nuni Omot as import of Magnolia Chicken Timplados ahead of its Saturday's game against Macau Black Knights in the PBA 50th Season Commissioner's Cup.
The 37-year-old Chapman recently played for CS Antonine in Lebanon and became available due to the tension in the Middle East.
Magnolia coach LA Tenorio said they made the change after the team found out that Omot was just coming off a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) procedure to attend to a knee injury.
“He was not 100 percent. We didn't know that before he came in, he had a PRP which was why his movement was limited to taking jump shots,” said Tenorio in Filipino in an interview with PBA.ph.
Tenorio felt that Omot's limited movements will affect the team moving forward.
“We feel that with his condition that he was not 100 percent, he is affecting the rest of the team. He can't do much although he can score. But we don't need a high-scoring import,” said Tenorio.
