Coached by Hall of Famer Vince Carter, Team Vince traded leads throughout the contest with Carmelo Anthony’s Team Melo, as neither team could pull away. Late in the game, Vince Team led 21–20 before Melo Team’s Stephon Castle hit a key mid-range jumper to take the lead. Edgecombe responded immediately, grabbing a crucial offensive rebound and converting a putback to put Team Vince back up 23–22.

With both teams just one basket from victory, Castle threw down a putback dunk to give Team Melo a 24–23 edge. On the final possession, Edgecombe drew a foul on Donovan Clingan and calmly sank both free throws, sealing the 25–24 win and the championship for Team Vince.
Edgecombe finished with a team-high 6 points, including 4 in the decisive final stretch. For Team Melo, Dylan Harper led all scorers with 8 points and 5 rebounds.
