Retamar’s agency, VP Global Management, announced the Filipino setter’s first overseas club stint after winning titles with Cignal, which won’t be seeing action in Spikers’ Turf indefinitely.

“Accepting this invitation is my way of helping sustain the visibility of Philippine men’s volleyball, especially amid the uncertainties back home,” Retamar said.
“I’m excited to learn from the environment and contribute in the best way I can.”
Retamar is arguably one of the country’s top playmakers after leading Alas Pilipinas in the FIVB Men’s World Championship, where he ranked fourth among setters in the pool stage.
The UAAP Best Setter and Finals Most Valuable Player from National University was also part of the Philippine men’s team that won silver in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and bronze in the 33rd SEA Games last December in Thailand.
Retamar’s move adds to the growing presence of Filipino players overseas, with Bryan Bagunas playing in Japan and Marck Espejo competing in Taiwan.
