San Miguel survived a 49-39 lead against TNT in the second quarter of Game 6 in the PBA 50 Philippine Cup this Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Beermen weathered an 18-5 surge by Tropang 5G in the opening five minutes, with CJ Perez answering back by scoring nine straight points to restore San Miguel’s lead to double digits.
TNT mounted a serious threat behind sharp perimeter shooting, burying six triples in the quarter to keep the game within reach.
Perez stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, four rebounds, and five assists, while June Mar Fajardo backed him up with 13 points and seven boards.
Calvin Oftana carried the scoring load for Tropang 5G with 21 points, while Jordan Heading and Kelly Williams chipped in five markers apiece.
