Star center Joel Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers to their third consecutive win by defeating the New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA showdown this Sunday (PH time) at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.

Embiid, whose 16-point burst in the fourth proved instrumental in winning the game, delivered a standout performance of 40 markers and 11 rebounds.

The first quarter saw both teams engage in a high-scoring battle, with the Pelicans taking a two-point lead. However, in the second quarter, the Pelicans' shooting cooled off drastically as they managed only 21 points.

The 76ers maintained their offensive momentum, unleashing a 36-21 run to establish a double-digit lead. Embiid dominated the quarter with 15 points and three rebounds.

After halftime, the 76ers' shooting efficiency dipped. Fueled by strong performances from Saddiq Bey and Trey Murphy III, the Pelicans narrowed the gap to just six points by the end of the third quarter.

In the final quarter, an 8-0 run briefly put the Pelicans ahead, leading to a back-and-forth struggle. In the clutch moments, Maxey, Embiid, and VJ Edgecombe stepped up, hitting critical three-pointers down the stretch to spark a decisive 14-4 run that sealed the game.

For the Pelicans, Bey led the team with a high of 34 points.

Following this matchup, the 76ers will face the Los Angeles Clippers on the road on February 3, while the Pelicans will also hit the road to take on the Charlotte Hornets on the same day.

Recently, Embiid seems to have become five years younger, returning to that all-powerful state

Time to move on from Zion. Do it now while he's still worth something.

Just trade Zion if you’re not gonna use him in a system fr. No way your leading scorer barely has actions.

George can focus on recovery! It won't affect the playoffs! The luxury tax will also be reduced! The 76ers can win happily
