The Minnesota Timberwolves took off in the fourth quarter and cruised past the Miami Heat on Sunday (PH time) at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Holding a slim 90–86 lead entering the final period, the Wolves opened the quarter with a bang, unleashing a decisive 23–6 run to build a 21-point cushion, 113–92, with 6:26 remaining.
Miami briefly threatened with an 8–0 surge to cut the deficit to 10, 118–108, with 3:02 left, but any hopes of a comeback were quickly erased by Anthony Edwards’ three-point play, sealing the outcome for Minnesota.
Edwards led the Timberwolves with 33 points and five assists as the team atoned for its disappointing 126–102 loss to the Hawks. Naz Reid added 29 points on 4-of-7 shooting off the bench, while Julius Randle chipped in 23.
Meanwhile, Norman Powell paced the Heat with 21 points as Miami saw its four-game winning streak come to a screeching halt.
The Timberwolves will look to sustain their winning form as they continue their back-to-back set against the Washington Wizards on Monday, while the Heat aim to bounce back in their next outing against the New Orleans Pelicans later the same day.
