The Los Angeles Lakers held their ground in a nail-biting 128-121 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday (PH time) at Crypto.com Arena.

The contest featured six lead changes before Los Angeles finally created breathing room in the fourth quarter, sparked by a decisive 12-2 run.

A timely three-pointer from Ja LaRavia pushed the Lakers’ advantage to seven, 119-112, with 2:26 left on the clock.

Marcus Smart later connected on a deep 23-foot triple, but the Lakers maintained control, stretching the margin to double digits at 124-114 as they closed out the thrilling victory.

Luka Doncic topped the Lakers with 34 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals, while LeBron James nearly finished with a double-double after a 31-point, nine-rebound contribution.

The bench players kept the Grizzlies in striking distance with a combined 65-point production.

The Lakers so far lead their season series with the Grizzlies at 2-0. They will play again on Monday, January 5, at Crypto.com Arena.
