Petro Gazz middle blocker Marian Buitre sparked rumors about her future in volleyball following her cryptic social media post on New Year's Day.

“I leave with respect—for the game and for myself. It’s been wild! Thank you for the chaos, volleyball. I think 20/29 years should suffice,” Buitre wrote on her Instagram account.

She added: "New year, new me?"

The post quickly drew attention from fans and athletes alike, although there has been no formal announcement regarding Buitre’s retirement from the sport.

The 29-year-old first stood out in UAAP with the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons before taking her talent to the professional level.
Buitre suited up for several teams in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), including Bali Pure, Chery Tiggo, and Petro Gazz.

With the Angels, Buitre established herself as a reliable veteran, providing experience and depth at the middle position.
