The smell of champagne on San Beda University has yet to die down but National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) squads are already gearing up for what looms to be a grueling Season 102 men’s basketball basketball tournament in the brand-new year.

Here the five players expected to make an impact in the season that is about to enter.

With the departure of seniors Finals Most Valuable Player Bryan Sajonia, sharpshooter Yuki Andrada, and veteran big man Joe Celzo, San Beda is set to tap recruit Aldous Torculas starting Season 102 to bolster its roster.

The 6-foot-4 forward, a University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) champion with University of the Philippines in Season 87, will bring his versatility to the reigning NCAA champions.

He will reunite with his fellow ex-Fighting Maroons Bismarck Lina and RC Calimag as the Red Lions look to defend their crown in 2026.

Speaking of reunions and former UP standouts, Letran College has its own as the Knights gear up for a redemption campaign after their finals loss to San Beda.

Letran will parade prized rookie George Diamante alongside transferee Denzil Walker as it adjusts to the exits of Jun Roque, Deo Cuajao, and Mark Omega.

Diamante is set to rekindle his partnership with fellow two-time Letran Squires champion Titing Manalili while Walker adds athleticism and championship experience from his time with UP.

Chris Hubilla, Lawrence Mangubat (JRU)

Jose Rizal University enjoyed a solid Season 101 under new head coach Nani Epondulan and the Heavy Bombers are now eyeing a deeper run after their quarterfinals campaign.

JRU will add a pair of proven winners in former NCAA Rookie of the Year Chris Hubilla and three-and-D guard Lawrence Mangubat.

Both players were part of Mapua University’s Season 100 championship squad and are hoping to replicate that success with JRU, which already boasts a young core led by Sean Salvador, Allen Laurenaria, Justine Lozano, and Ivan Panapanaan.
