The final game of the NBA’s Christmas Day set will feature two of the top teams in the Western Conference. The Denver Nuggets are ranked third in the West with a 21-8 record, while the Minnesota Timberwolves are fifth with a 20-10 slate.
The Wolves head into this showdown with momentum on their side, having won each of their last three games. Anthony Edwards carried Minnesota in the wins over powerhouse teams Oklahoma City, Milwaukee and New York, averaging 29.3 points during that stretch.
They will look to make it four wins in a row against the Nuggets, who are coming off a gut-wrenching 130-131 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
This will be the third meeting between the Nuggets and Mavs this season. They first faced off on Oct. 28, with Denver recording a 127-114 victory at home. Jamal Murray starred in that contest, scoring 43 points. Nikola Jokic also delivered, posting a triple-double with 25 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists.
They squared off again on Nov. 16, with the Nuggets pulling off a 123-112 win. Jokic produced another triple-double performance, racking up 27 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Julius Randle and Edwards led the way for the Wolves, scoring 26 points apiece in a losing effort.
