The San Antonio Spurs once again proved to be the kryptonite of the mighty Oklahoma City Thunder.
The gritty Spurs handed the defending champions a convincing 130-110 defeat on Wednesday (PH time) at Frost Bank Center, becoming the first team to beat the Thunder twice this season.
After three tightly contested quarters, San Antonio blew the game open in the fourth, stretching the lead to as many as 22 points behind a balanced offensive attack.
The win was even more impressive considering a relatively quiet night from Victor Wembanyama, who finished with just 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Veteran Keldon Johnson paced the Spurs with 25 points, while Stephon Castle poured in 24. Harrison Barnes chipped in 20, and Devin Vassell added 17 to round out a strong team effort.
San Antonio improved to 22-7 and will get another crack at Oklahoma City when the two teams meet again on Christmas Day (Dec. 26, PH time).
