The Orlando Magic narrowly escaped with a 128–127 overtime victory over the Utah Jazz on the road, snapping their two-game losing streak while extending Utah’s skid to two games. Despite leading by as many as 19 points through the first three quarters, Orlando needed a last-second basket in overtime to secure the win.
The Magic controlled the game early and built a sizable cushion, but their offense stalled in the fourth quarter, allowing the Jazz to storm back. Collier’s late layup tied the game, and Paolo Banchero missed a potential buzzer-beater, forcing overtime.
The extra period saw multiple lead changes. With four seconds remaining, Jazz guard Keyonte George completed a four-point play to put Utah ahead by one. On the ensuing possession, Desmond Bane attacked the basket and finished a game-winning layup over Kevin Love as time expired.
Bane led all scorers with 32 points, while Banchero nearly posted a triple-double with 23 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.
For Utah, George finished with 27 points, while veteran Kevin Love recorded a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds.
The Jazz return to action against the Denver Nuggets on December 23, while the Magic head to Golden State to face the Warriors on the same day.
