Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno is convinced that Mobile Legends has evolved following Sibol's historic four-straight Southeast Asian Games gold medal finish since the introduction of the event in 2019.
The Philippine national Esports team, manned by members of Team Liquid PH, swept Malaysia 4-0 in a one-sided best-of-seven series last Wednesday at Sala Phra Kieo, Chulalongkorn University.
The win marked KarlTzy's second gold medal in SEA Games Mobile Legends, as he was also a member of the inaugural team that competed in the 2019 tournament in the Philippines.
"I'm also very happy and so proud that this is now my second gold [medal]," said KarlTzy, who leaned on his signature core hero Lancelot in the series.
"It's really more difficult to win now compared to before, because Mobile Legends has become complicated."
When asked how different the competition is today from 2019, KarlTzy iterated that the popular mobile MOBA is no longer a two-nation esports.
"At that time, it seemed like Indonesia was dominating the international scene. Now it seems like everyone has caught up," he added.
