Following the conclusion of the Thunder vs. Spurs game, the matchup for the NBA Cup Finals is now official. The New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs will meet in Las Vegas to compete for the championship.
The New York Knicks advanced to the NBA Cup Finals by defeating the Orlando Magic 132-120 in the semifinals, fueled by a stellar 40-point, 8-assist performance from their leader Jalen Brunson. The victory marks the Knicks' fifth consecutive win.
In the other semifinal, the San Antonio Spurs, led by the return of Victor Wembanyama, faced the red-hot Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite the Thunder building an early double-digit lead and stretching it to as many as 16 points, the resilient Spurs clawed back with a 10-0 run to erase the deficit and take the lead. After a hard-fought battle, the Spurs, with four players scoring over 20 points, pulled off an upset by defeating the formidable Thunder 111-109, snapping Oklahoma City's 16-game winning streak.
The NBA Cup Finals are scheduled to tip off on December 17 (PH time) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
